The Lakehouse

Adam and I purchased The Lakehouse, located in Whiskey Bay on Lake Malone in early 2023. This cozy retreat was a property with good bones but needed LOTS of good, old-fashioned TLC. Adam purchased this home with intentions of flipping and reselling it, but once I saw the place myself I was shocked at the sheer amount of potential there and got excited about designing it to be as sweet of a spot that I knew it could be. Along the way, we got attached to it and personally invested in making this place our next spot to enjoy as a family! It has taken a little over 6 months to complete our renovation and while we plan to do more in the future, we love this little house and all she turned out to be! We have already spent lots of weekends there, soaking up sun and just slowing down our fast paced lives!

For this project we cut costs by keeping several big-ticket items as-is such as kitchen cabinets, windows, wall paneling (can I believe I'm typing that- no- BUT at the lake, it's kind of a vibe I think and adds to the rustic style of the place.), some light fixtures and more. We did a complete gut-job on the bathroom (besides the tub), repainted the exterior of the house, did all new flooring throughout, painted the paneling and trim in the bedrooms, replaced the sliding glass doors, replaced kitchen countertops and of course DECOR.
